Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place
FAQ's
IS THERE A FEE FOR COURSES? First Aid/CPR, camp certification, and some workshop days have fees. Any fees are noted in the Training & Program Booklet with the course information. All fees must be paid in full to register for the course. No registrations will be taken over the phone when there is a fee unless paying with master card or visa.
IS PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED? Registration is necessary for all training courses. Walk-ins may find that the course is full, canceled, or there are not enough materials. Most training courses have a pre- course assignment. Some registration forms are available on line or from the council office. Sign ups are due at the council office 14 days before the training date, unless otherwise stated. Registrations received after the deadline will be considered on a basis of space and materials available. Participants must be 18 years or older unless otherwise noted or pre-approved by the Adult Development Director.
WILL CONFIRMATIONS BE SENT TO ME? You will receive confirmation of training events prior to the event, but please mark your calendar with the date when you register. In almost all cases, your trainers are volunteers just like you. They receive no compensation and are giving their time to make Girl Scouting an enjoyable and worthwhile experience for the girls in your troop and for you.
WILL MY FEE BE REFUNDED? A class may be canceled due to bad weather, illness of a trainer, or if fewer than 5 people registered by the deadline. Registered participants will be notified by phone about cancellations. Also, listen to local radio stations WJTN, WKSN, WHUG, WDOE, WPIG for cancellations due to inclement weather. Refunds will be made only when council is notified of cancellation 14 days prior to the course, or if the council canceled the course.
PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY:
